e4k® / curiosity fund®

Whether it’s finding a new sailing route around the globe, mapping the coastline of an uncharted world, discovering a new species, learning from diverse cultures, or attempting a world-first achievement, every one of these endeavors faces a common challenge: securing funding from donors, patrons, benefactors, or sponsors.

That’s why we established the Curiosity Fund—not only to inspire the next generation but also to support ongoing expeditions and projects on the ground through our NGO partners.

By purchasing our products, you automatically contribute to this fund and support the vital work of its partners.

If you’re interested in donating or partnering with the fund directly, please reach out to us.

Addressing the impending climate crisis is inherently linked to tackling a range of human needs and challenges.

Over the years, we have supported various freshwater, marine, and terrestrial research projects, enabling teams to access remote locations and deepen their understanding of their respective fields.

A vital aspect of our commitment to bridging the human-nature disconnect is our partnership with Global Vision 2020, a global charity dedicated to distributing prescription-based spectacles in remote villages worldwide.

By donating to the e4k®Fund®, you help us provide teams on the ground with modular kits that assist both young and old, making a meaningful impact in underserved communities.

MOBILE CLASSROOM

To tackle the human-nature disconnect, we have partnered with explore4knowledge® to develop Mobile Classrooms. These purpose-built expedition and educational vehicles have reached over 100,000 learners from diverse socio-economic backgrounds across Africa since 2011.

In collaboration with organizations such as the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF), the Duke of Edinburgh Award, and the Scouts, we have successfully managed various award-winning, outcomes-based holistic learning initiatives.

These vehicles allow us to bring Biology, Geography, and Science classrooms directly to learners in remote villages, supporting educators in facilitating workshops aligned with the curriculum. By fostering curiosity and engagement among the leaders of tomorrow, we help facilitate advancement levels and interest badges. We eagerly anticipate inspiring the next 100,000 learners and many more beyond!

expeditions - Overlanding

We proudly support explore4knowledge® through the sale of our products. Since 2011, this organization has managed award-winning expeditions worldwide.

These expeditions are designed to inspire curiosity through scientific research, educational outreach, Overlanding adventures, and a web-based reality series. The content created by the explore4knowledge® team offers viewers valuable insights into current conservation issues, rewilding programs, eco-tourism projects, and citizen science initiatives.

The Explorers Collection was established to address the growing need for funding various projects managed by explore4knowledge®, and we are honored to support their important work.

If you’re interested in partnering with explore4knowledge® on any of their expeditions or projects, please feel free to contact our team or reach out to them directly.

Conservation - ReWilding

The most pressing threat to nature in today’s world is the human-nature disconnect.

To combat this issue, we ensure that all our coffee beans are ethically sourced, fair trade, and purchased from small-scale farmers globally. Additionally, we actively support various environmental awareness and educational initiatives focused on rewilding.

These projects address critical challenges within freshwater, terrestrial, and marine ecosystems.

In collaboration with the explore4knowledge® team and their extensive network of partners, we are proud to contribute to efforts that make a meaningful difference by influencing human behavior and enhancing understanding of this disconnect.

STORY TELLING

Storytelling is an art we learned from the trackers in the Kalahari Desert in South Africa. These skilled individuals can look at a patch of sand and reveal what animals passed by, the age of the tracks, and the time of day they crossed our path.

Unfortunately, this invaluable local knowledge is fading from the world’s sand dunes, ice fields, and cliff faces, and soon these trackers may become figures of the past, spoken of only in stories.

This realization inspired us to preserve some of these ancient stories, create new narratives, and encourage the next generation to use their phones or cameras to capture the beauty of the natural world before it’s too late.

In partnership with the Society for Exploration, we have established a storytelling grant aimed at encouraging youth to explore their surroundings. We invite them to use the technology at hand to share stories of rewilding, urban exploration, community action, or their personal adventures. Grant applications and selections are managed independently, so please stay tuned to our social media for updates on how to apply.
